Gabrovo Region
Gabrovo District (also Gabrovo Region) is one of the 28 districts in Bulgaria. It is located in the centre of Bulgaria on the northern slopes of the Sredna Stara Planina and the central Pre-Balkan Mountains on an area of 2,023 km As of 31 December 2020, the population of Gabrovo District was 105,788, which represents 1.5% of the country’s population and 13.8% of the population of the North Central Region.
The working-age population as of 31.12.2020 is 58,300, or 55.1% of the district’s population, with 31,300 men and 27,100 women. As of 31.12.2020 the demographic replacement rate is 55.
There are 356 settlements in Gabrovo District, divided into 4 municipalities – Gabrovo, Sevlievo, Tryavna and Dryanovo.
